Recently, the paper on the research program “Choice of surgical procedure for patients with NSCLC ≤1 cm or >1 to 2 cm among lobectomy, segmentectomy and wedge resection: A population-based study” was accepted and published by the renowned clinical oncology journal--Journal of Clinical Oncology. The research program was cooperated by the research team led by Professor He Jianxing of the lung cancer research team of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University/State Key Laboratory of Respiratory Disease. The research mainly compares and studies the choice among lobectomy, segmentectomy or wedge resection when the NSCLC is ≤1 cm or >1 to 2 cm. The research argues that in both cases, lobectomy is obviously superior to sublobectomy and suggests segmentectomy for patients with NSCLC size of 1 to 2 cm when they are not suitable to receive lobectomy.
