Recently, the research results of “Pathogenic Role of mTORC1 and mTORC2 in Pulmonary Hypertension” co-conducted by the research teams led by Professor Tang Haiyang and Professor Wang Jian from the laboratory of the Department of Vascular Diseases, in collaboration with Professor Jason Yuan of the Department of Translational Medicine, University of Arizona, USA, was published in Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC: Basic Transl Sci) in December, 2018. The results reveal the different roles of rapamycin target protein (mTOR) complex 1 and complex 2, two functionally different mTOR complexes in the development of pulmonary hypertension, and provide a new perspective for the development of new treatments of pulmonary arteries with high pressure and patients with right heart failure.
