Recently, a research paper titled “PUM1 is a biphasic negative regulator of innate immunity genes by suppressing LGP2” was published on Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. (USA) (with an impact factor of 9.66), with Liu Yonghong, a doctoral candidate of Guangzhou Medical University as the first author and Professor Zhou Guoying of the Laboratory PI as the corresponding author.

This research revealed for the first time that Pumilio1(Pum1), the RNA known to all, performs a dynamic negative regulation on natural immunity along with protein through LGP-2 and studied the anti-infection shifting from the conventional focus on pathogenic to natural immunity system based on the organic body itself.
