The SKLRD makes a major progress in MERS coronavirus infection research
2016-06-17766Professor Zhao Jincun of the State Key Laboratory of Respiratory Disease and Professor Stanley Perlman of the University of Iowa of the United States cooperated to make a major progress in the research of MERS coronavirus infection. They had unprecedentedly proved the important role of Airway memory CD4+ T cell in the coronavirus infection process of MERS and SARS and successfully applied it in the development of respiratory coronavirus vaccine. Their research finding was published online by Immunity, a top-grade journal of immunology (with an impact factor of 24) on June 7, 2016. The discovery is of great significance, which has provided new ideas and methods for the development of multi-functional respiratory coronavirus vaccine for the humankind int he future.
